Urban Home Market is hiring Interior Designer Specialists for both full and part time positions in Birmingham and Madison, Alabama. We believe sales follow a trusting relationship built on a customer-centric approach and a great attitude. These critical front-facing positions represent the Urban Home Market brand, and we are excited for the opportunity to expand our team of creative professionals.  

RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS 
Interior Designer Specialists support Interior Designers to help create personalized, customer-centric interior design plans to help solve our customers’ greatest design challenges and create dynamic spaces that are functional and beautiful. Consultations are both in-showroom and in-home. 

EXPERIENCE & APTITUDE  
+ Passion for beautiful, functional interior design
+ Retail experience  
+ Ability to create whole-room and whole-house residential interiors that delight customers  
+ Carefully listens to customers style, wants and challenges to creatively translate their desires into tangible design plans 
+ Excellent communication skill and genuine a love of talking with customers 
+ Highly driven to exceed sales goals  
+ Maintains a professional demeanor and appearance  
+ Courteous, patient attitude with all customers and team members
 
RESPONSIBILITIES  
Customer Relations Responsibilities 
+ Create a genuinely customer-centric experience for every customer who requests a consultation to solve a design challenge 
+ Follows customer along the continuum from initial visit through ordering, installation, staging and following up post-sale to continue relationship for the next room or home 
+ Completes precise custom orders and follows up throughout the ordering process until all items are delivered or installed  
+ Documents customer communication including quotes and sales orders and provides regular reports to management  
+ Participates in occasional on-site and off-site events in promotion of Urban Home Market  

Showroom Responsibilities  
+ Collaborate on visual merchandising vignettes on the showroom floor 
+ Set up and tag merchandise  
+ Wrap desk management to ring up sales and accepts returns  
+ Assist in maintaining the Showroom appearance 
+ Assist in maintaining Design Area and Design Library area 

QUALIFICATIONS  
+ 2+ years of retail design experience 
+ Customer-centric sales approach  

PART TIME COMPENSATION 
$12-$15 per hour hour / Mostly Fri-Sun 10A-6P and some weekdays as needed
